These might be familiar faces for some of you, haha. I used some of my original characters for these (though who knows whether or not I'll actually do anything with the characters themselves at this point). The backgrounds were actually just a colored paper backing with a one inch border around the original image, but it looked weird with the white space once I photographed them, so I filled it in. These were all done with watercolor on some giant sheets of paper. I cut out the shapes and put them together afterward. They are supposed to have some kind of story, so view them in order, I guess!

The assignment here was to use an object that had some personal meaning to you and incorporate it into an image. My grandpa was a field medic in World War II and brought back some stuff from Japan... so, of course the obvious choice was planes. Well, part of the assignment was to do something you don't usually do with your work, and I don't really draw planes ever. I also wanted to make it look more like a painting, so I tried not to use lines. It's not quite finished, but the file sort of died while I was working on it, so yeah, it's done, haha. Overall, I'm not too happy with it, but it was decent practice, so I'm posting it for that reason.
